Preparation Instructions

Black Tea

For best results:

Use filtered or bottled water, newly boiled. Rinse cup with hot water. Insert tea bag in cup. Add boiling water. Let brew for 2-3 minutes. Add milk or a slice of lemon/lime to taste and/or add sugar to taste.

Suggestion: When using milk, boiling milk can enhance taste.

Iced Tea

To make iced tea, use twice the amount of tea leaves you would use for hot tea, because it will be diluted with ice. Make a pot of tea, strain and then pour over ice cubes.

Add a couple of sprigs of mint to the pot or perhaps a thinly pared rind of citrus fruit.

Decorate the glass with a mint sprig and a slice of lemon. Sweeten to taste with sugar. Alternatively add a splash of your favorite fruit cordial or syrup.

CHAI (Spiced Tea)

  • 1/3 water

  • 2/3 milk

  • 1 bag of SilverTips Brand Tea for each cup

  • freshly chopped ginger

  • cardamom pods

  • a little piece clove (optional)

  • enough sugar to make it sweet

  • cinnamon

Throw it all into a saucepan cold and bring slowly to a boil.  When boiling turn up the heat and swirl it around until it reaches the desired strength and the spices provide a kick.  Strain it into small glasses.
